Eat like king Gustav Vasa, the founder of modern Sweden. We serve food cooked over an open fire, following medieval recipes. (For groups of four or more.)
Book Vasa dinner here. CLOSED for the season, we will be back in autumn when game and fire are allowed in the forest again.
The dinner begins with a walk to the Vasa monument, to see the cellar where Gustav Vasa hid when he was chased by Danish jacks. He then continued skiing against Norway, but was caught up and stopped by talented skiers from Mora. This is the “Vasaloppet” foundation- the largest and oldest ski event in the world. Gustav subsequently took up the fight against the Danish king Kristian II and won Sweden back from Denmark.
The food consists of old-fashioned plates, created over open fire according to medieval recipes. Enjoy the feast and celebrate the historic victory.
